Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a Wii game, debuts tomorrow. Why is the act of fighting so enthralling & exciting?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out! Man this is so great! I was SO excited when the original N64 game came out in 99 and than Melee in 01, another addition to the series is just...awesome. Yet...I find myself a little disturbed. The prospect of taking the helm of Link or Samus or Solid Snake and dueling with Mario or Roy or Pitt is tantalizing. It makes my blood rush and causes a hungry grin to appear upon my face. I can't wait to blast my opponent off the screen! Dodge all their attacks and then, boom! ...but...why is that so exciting? I consider myself a man of peace. I really, really, REALLY want to live in a peaceful, happy world where everyone has plenty of food to eat, nice clothes, a safe home, and a good job. I don't like violence and I think war is good for absolutely nothing (cue the song!) Yet, I can't deny how exciting the prospect of playing Brawl is for me.
oh man. Is it that human beings are just naturally aggressive creatures with an insatiable need for violence, mayhem and destruction which we cover with a thin veneer of politeness and civility for the case of functioning within our false, zombie-like society? Are we just bloodthirsty beasts barely restrained by rules and police officers? Do I have a monster living inside of me, just clawing away to get out? I like to think that all human beings are genuinely peaceful, cooperative, kind creatures. I won't deny how I feel though. Your thoughts?
