1. New Controls
I know a lot of people know about this feature, but it is still something new for the home consoles.
2. Online Play
I have heard plenty of people saying that X-Box 360 Online features do more then the Wii's. They also complain how you need to have a friend code to fight anyone online. But that is not true. You can fight a random person by just telling the game that. It worked on the DS and it works on the Wii.
3. Graphics
I am not going to lie and say the Wii's graphics are the best, but I can say that they do get my attention more so then the PS3 or XB360 because all games now a days look so realistic, it is really getting boring. I play games to get away from the real world, and the last thing I want to play is something that reminds me of the real world.

Very detailed! Repped!
For me, "next-gen" means something new. "next-gen" doesn't always mean an "upgrade" of the previous generation, it could be worse. Graphic-wise, Wii surely doesn't have the best graphic, it stays at PS2 level, but the new remote controller is a huge step forward, huge enough to cover the poor graphic, so for me, it's considered "next-gen".
As HDTVs price drop like crazy recnetly, a lot of people can now afford HDTVs. Why do we use a HDTV? BETTER GRAPHIC!!! So in my opinion, there will a new Wii coming in the future that will support HD quality graphic. Just an educated guess
