Why is Wii Ware such a big suprise?

Why is Wii Ware such a big suprise?

So,.. Nintendo announced today that they will be launching Wii-Ware in 2008. What is Wii-Ware? Well,.. we already know what Wii-Ware is. Original titles that you can purchase from the shop channel.. such as the Opera Browser.

It is great to get confirmation from Nintendo that original games will be added to the Wii-Ware selection, and even better that indie developers will be invited to use it, but it's less than suprising. A few developers have already let the cat out of the bag,.. one of which was Capcom.

The other big hint? The fact that it SAYS in the Wii shop channel that more Wii-Ware is coming at a later time.

My only question now, is how do we store all this content? C'mon Nintendo.. let's get some firmware to enable external hard drives,.. or at least let us execute software from our SD cards.

I agree, we DEFINATELY need more storage for the console. In my opinion it is probably the only thing letting the console down
