Nintendo opts for "more intimate"

Nintendo opts for "more intimate" GC
No big conference planned - instead there'll be "more intimate" tours of Nintendo GC wares

The buzz of these big games shows usually centres around press conferences from 'the three big' but this year Nintendo won't be doing one.

"We are not doing a traditional conference as before," Nintendo told CVG this afternoon. "We are instead doing more intimate media tours at the show. Someone from Nintendo Germany will take you round the booths and show you the games, letting you play them and answering any questions that you may have," the spokesperson explained.

Nintendo's decision harks back to its E3 2006 slogan "playing is believing", as it sees the new format as a way of ensuring everyone understands its new strategy.

"It's important for people to play our games to fully understand them," Nintendo explained. "We feel it's better to do this through more intimate briefings than through a big conference. Also, a lot of people who come to these conferences never actually play the game, so with these smaller presentations everyone will play them, and will get to ask the question they need to."

These tours will be in German, as with conferences in previous years, and english-speaking attendees (us Brits) will be wearing headsets for vocal translations.

We'll be there, as always, bringing you the low-down on all the games on show.
