Lego Star Wars on WII - need to add second player

Hi, I hope someone can help me. We cannot get a second player into Lego Star Wars. The manual says to just press the "plus" button and the second player should drop in, but it doesn't happen. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? Very frustrating!

make sure both wiimotes are synced to your wii (one should have the first blue light on, second sould have the second blue light on) then try pressing + to "drop in"

i'm having the exact same problem. both wiimotes sync fine in other games like wii play for example. but it doesn't work in lego star wars. if you try to manually sync the second wiimote by pushing 1 and 2 simultaneously, it just flashes for awhile but doesn't sync. there's no option in lego star wars to sync the second wiimote. has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have a solution? please help! thanks.

never mind, i finally figured it out. here's the solution ...
i had to go back to the main starting screen of the lego star wars game, and then clicked the home button on the wiimote, then with the pointer click on wii remote settings, then the reconnect button, and then it will disconnect your first wiimote, so click on 1 and 2 simultaneously to sync that one, and once that's connected, do the same with your 2nd wiimote. now each of them will have a light at the bottom of the wiimote. then i just clicked on the + sign to get out of that screen, and then clicked on Close Wii Remote Settings at the bottom, and voila they're both synced! hope that helps.
