HELP - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I'm having a problem that i can't seem to get around.

After forest temple part 1
I now have to enter the twilight realm, but in that massive hyrule field there are only two other 'ways out' (excluding the route back to the oil salesman) the one has a locked gate with two guards and skeletal wolves that come out from the ground, and the other (BTW When I approached it the mailman came) has a little alleyway and then a pile of rocks to form a wall blocking my way.

I looked at the walkthrough and it says nothing about this wall or the gate. It only mentions the mailman and then says continue to enter the twilight.

Am i missing something important?

so you have the fused shadow from the Forest Temple?

if I remember correctly you have to get to Kakariko village. I don't remember anything about a rock wall. there should be another piece of Hyrule Field to the Front left, you can access it by a small path, there should be a way through, no rocks blocking your path. after that it darkens and you can enter the Twilight.

if you go straight across the field you will encounter a rock wall that can be destroyed later on, after you clear the last twilight from the Lanayru Province. and to the right there will be a gate that leads to Lake Hylia that is unlocked later on, again when you clear the twilight from that area.

Thanks! I feel so stupid! I ran across coz on the map it looked like the wall and gate were the only way to proceed further.

That will teach me to stop trying to rush things and explore properly.
