What's your definition of 'hardcore' game?

My definition of hardcore game is where a gamer needs to spend excessive time and afford on the game. A game that's seriously taken.

An example would be World of Warcraft. I had been playing it for 2 years and finally quited it last year! In that game, you will meet a lot of hardcore gamers who has no life and spend 24hr a day playing it. But i have to say...that game is extremely addictive!!

A hardcore game is one that is either completely not easily approachable, or offers a whole new level of gameplay that only seasoned veterans will achieve (and only with considerable time and effort.)

IE: World of Warcraft - Not always approachable due to the amount of time necessary to reach higher lvls
IE: Halo 2 - Approachable by n00bs. But don't even think about going to MLG if you can't BxR.
IE: Smash Bros Melee - Anyone can play, but can you wavedash? (youtube it)

I have to say playing the main stream game mostly ST person shooter and all ways playing against a human player so you can brag on how many times you kill them and feel good about your self ... heheheh
