Wii remote malfunction

I just recently bought a brand new wii remote and it synched perfectly to my wii. Everything was working great until my friend and i accidently bumped remotes. That is until the new remote stopped working. I mean it would still show up on the screen if you waved it around, but you could no longer use it to play a game or anything else. the console would not recognize that it had any buttons. I tried everything from turning the console off and turning it back on. and also resetting the remote it self. but nothing worked.
THUS I SAY! KEEP Away from other remotes.

Hi my wii remote suddenly stopped working - you could still see it showing up on the screen if you waved it about but it wouldnt work in any of my games. my question is would over vigourous use of the remote cause it to stop working and what would cause it to stop

for kacumunga---try hitting it lightly on something then if that doesn't work hit it a bit harder and try again.
