we want to play multi player and we cant just buy a second wii guitar, so we were wondering if the usb guitar would work.

I don't think so, remember the wii guitar uses a remote (I tink, last I saw it did) so using a USB one for the PC version or whatever won't work. if you know someone with the Pc version you could allways try though
