Burned Wii

Hi,

I was trying to install cyclowiz.
I completed the installation and tested it.
It was fine.
After that i tried to close the case so i closed and screwed the drive back. (I taped the modchip to avoid short circuits)
After the drive was screwed i tried to test it before closing the case completely.
The chip wasn't working. I could only work with original discs.
I opened the drive again. I though maybe I screwed it too much.
After i opened it i tried to test it.
So I put the plug on and i tried to power it up.
However i missed the power button and i touched inside the wii motherboard near the led of the power switch.
The wii turned off and a stench of burned electronics arrived.
I opened the motherboard to sniff the origin of the smell.
It was only close to the power switch.
I found out that i burned it a bit at this point:

So with hints from other people I got my multimeter and checked the continuity from the switch to the C80 point as seen in the picture. It seems fine.
I also checked the fuse at the power input. That is also fine.
I don't know what could be the problem.
Anyone has any idea?

I don't mean to be rude, but there is a lesson to be learned here: Do not use Wii Mod Chips!!!!!!!

I wholeheartedly agree, I suggest you just take good care of your discs and then you'll never have to make a personal backup, and if you want a new game, well you'll just have to pay like the rest of us
