How do you configure the dance pad for DDR Hottest Dance Party for wii?

I set up the game and the wii remote and nunchucks work fine - but the game does not recognize anything on the dance pad. I am sure it is just a matter of configuring it somehow but I cannot figure out how to get to any type of configuration menu. Can anyone help?

is it the one for the wii because i think that u do the same thing as the wii remote and there should be constructions, or if it has a ubs cable, there is a usb port in the back of the wii

Have you plugged the pad into the Wii? The pad has the same type of plugin as the GameCube controllers. If you look at the top of the Wii, you will find two little covers that open. When they are opened you will find plugins for GameCube controller and GameCube memory card slots.

To tell you the truth, the little covers are hard to miss becuase they are flush with the top of the system.
