You can connect the Wii wirelessly to your wireless LAN. When you buy your Wii, look for & choose the wireless settings & it will find your network, & see if its compatible to connect. If it is, it will connect to it. To make it easier, you can hard wire it to your router & it will make connecting easier & faster. All you need for that is a Nintendo LAN Adapter. It costs $30 but hey, I bought & its better than wireless. You may to a faster connection like cable internet to have extreme faster connections to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection unless your ISP is fast. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will upgrade the software on your Wii so you can download updates, Virtual Console games, surf the net, etc. Also, when you buy games, look for a blue circle icon that says "Wi-Fi Connection" compatability. Those games allow you to connect your game online & play with others.
