I'm looking at getting a Wii, yes I know they're hard to get. What do I need to get it connected to the net?

I've got a wireless LAN at my house will that do it or do I need to buy something else?

OK Start at the wii menu...
Go to wii settings
look for internet settings
click it then it should say search acess point
then it should detect ur wireless internet.. save password if needed and ur good. Ur online 24/7 =]
But..the only thing now is that instead of turning ur wii off at the push of a button, u have to hold on it for 5 seconds to turn it off, or else itll be in standby mode and it can burn up so be carfeul.. make sure its red not yellow

You can connect the Wii wirelessly to your wireless LAN. When you buy your Wii, look for & choose the wireless settings & it will find your network, & see if its compatible to connect. If it is, it will connect to it. To make it easier, you can hard wire it to your router & it will make connecting easier & faster. All you need for that is a Nintendo LAN Adapter. It costs $30 but hey, I bought & its better than wireless. You may to a faster connection like cable internet to have extreme faster connections to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection unless your ISP is fast. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will upgrade the software on your Wii so you can download updates, Virtual Console games, surf the net, etc. Also, when you buy games, look for a blue circle icon that says "Wi-Fi Connection" compatability. Those games allow you to connect your game online & play with others.

Hi,

You would actually need a usb dongle if you need to connect by wire... but Wifi (wireless) connectivity is standard on the Wii.

You should be all set to connect your Wii to the net; which is btw a lot easier than connecting a PS2 to the net.
